Steering Wheel So Stiff

My steering wheel is so hard to turn when I'm trying to park...
I could barely turning the wheel using two hands..
using one hand will not work on my steering wheel..

Is that problem relate to recall issue for TL?

or is it just the power steering pump is out?

Thank you

It could be related to the recall? I do agree with justnspace that most TL's are stiff. However if you can't turn it with 2 hands there is an issue. If you are hearing noise when you do turn the wheel I would have it checked out? I assume you have had the power steering recall completed?

I am having the same problem. I can be at a stand still and try to turn the wheel and it takes ALL that have to turn it. I can also feel it when im driving. Only when I first start the car and the first 5 min of driving does it seem normal.

I have had the the noise that is related to the O-ring, which i replaced the right and the noise is gone, but now basically i have no PS. Is there a way to tell if its the pump? With all the problems I had with the ring, should I attempt a flush before I go that route?

Check your tire pressure. it really should not be that hard to turn, at a standstill perhaps

time to build up that arm strength

and as mentioned above, turn the wheel while you're moving, no matter how slow. It's a lot easier than just sitting and turning the wheel.

for any one that has a 6 speed manual, you can tap the gas in neutral, which will loosen up the steering for those parking lot speeds.

Good luck autos!

if you guys REALLY think that your power steering pump is not working, think again. try turning your engine off but put the key in the ignition to unlock the steering wheel, then try turning it. it will be nearly impossible and take a lot of strength, trust me. so if you guys are even moving the steering wheel, then yes your power steering pump is working, just man up and turn it
