Steering Wheel Shakes

My steering wheel shakes when I apply the brakes to slow down but only at higher speeds (ie., on the expressways when I am braking to get off at an exit). Can anyone tell me if this is brake pads, rotor or alignment issue? Thanks in advance for your responses.

How many miles on the car?

AT or MT?

It seems that the rotors are warped. Some members here have had the pads & rotors replaced for free under warranty. I don't know what qualified them for the free replacements. Maybe you can do a search & get some more info. I haven't had any problems w/ my 2004 Tl automatic. I got over 48,00 miles & about 50% life left on the brake pads.

Thanks for the reply - I have an 05 AT with 47,000 mile (I do a lot of highway driving for my job). I still have about 5-10,000s mile on my original pads - I wonder if turning the rotors when I change the pads will help with the warping? Any suggestions out there??
