A couple of weeks ago I notified the forum that my steering wheel rattle was due to a rattling ignition. And indeed that seemed to have fixed the problem for a week or so. But the exact noise has returned so I've taken the car back. They are now telling me that it is due to airbag and they are installing a new one. Sty tuned to see whether that is the problem. But if you have a steering wheel rattle, two likely causes are the airbag and the ignition.

like...rattling rattling? like a typical rattle in the dash or your seat clip (the things that adjusts to your height behind you on the left)? I need a new steering wheel...it's falling apart (2005 tl); they blamed it on ME though...so they won't cover it under warranty -_-

the airbag replacement seemed to take care of the problem. unfortunately, i cant get them to explain to me the details...was it a defect? was it installed incorrectly? they simply said they were following tech recomendations from other dealers
