Hey guys, I bought my 08 TL (46k miles) about a month ago. I threw on some Conti DWS tires and I am in love with the car! My biggest complaint is that I have the infamous steering wheel rattle that has been a problem to many. I have searched and read through all the threads multiple times trying to find a DIY fix. I know that some of you out there have done it! Please shed some light on the Acura newbie and help me out a little. I asked if my local dealer could fix it when I had it in for the power steering hose recall and he said it was $90 just to "diagnose" where the rattle was coming from! That is a little steep assuming that its just a wiring harness that has come lose and is just moving around.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

^What does it sound like?

I have a rattle of some sort but only appeared when I removed the air bag to replace bulbs. I had to retighten the special L screws and it reduced this rattle but not a complete fix.

Mine was like a metal rubbing rattle noise which gets annoying when your driving.

 

An 08 and Acura still has the wheel rattle? Sheesh!

If you do mess with the air bag assy. make sure you understand the proper procedure to follow from the service manual with respect to unhooking the battery, etc.

Mine sounds like a wiring harness that is just rubbing/bumping up against something. It only happens at certain RPMs on different road surfaces and occasionally when I go over a man hole.
