Steering Wheel color fading?

Guys, is your TL steering wheel looks like this?

Is this normal, or should I ask for a replacement under warranty? I used to clean it whith Lexol pH (seats too).

that is just poor quality. I have had cars with 200K miles and the steering wheels never looked like that. Speak with the SM and ask him to help. If he says no, ask to speak with the regional parts and service manager then go to Acura. A steering wheel should never look like that.

have your tried cleaning it at all? One guy who's car I detailed looked exactly like yours, a little bit of woolite and water solution (6 parts water to 1 part woolite) cleaned it up.

Really man, woolite and water? Damn, should I try before getting the car to service? Imagine that: "Hey man, learn how to clean up your car!" Let me try a portion of the SW now, it's 9:12pm!!

Manwhat a shame!! It was a miracle!! LOL

It was all dirt cover with Lexol! OK, learn from the best. Thanks guys, thanks csmeance. Case closed, right?

PS Honestly, I was already thinking about the 2005-2006 SW, or even a TL-S!!

Case closed. I will be honest here, and no offense to the 05-06 guys, the factory steering wheel in the 04 is much higher quality than the 05-06 ones, and the 07-08 ones are of a little better quality, but not 04 quality. Also the 07+ ones won't work unless you pay for a new air-bag and maybe a new harness that leads to the steering wheel. Clean you car frequently, if that was the condition of the steering wheel, imagine your poor seat where your bare legs touch when you are wearing shorts and driving with fuzzy slippers

OP Chapu's issue was not fading, but of the dirt being trapped under the coats of Lexol. That's like the ashy dash problem- materials from outgassing cloud the finish, rather the dash actually fading, so proper cleaning brings back the original factory sheen.

Maybe water + Woolite will take care of your sister's Accord wheel problem.

FWIW, I avoid using leather conditioner on steering wheel covers just because they feel slippery shortly after conditioner application.
