Steering Wheel Click

This is a problem that I've noticed this winter and has continued into the nicer weather. I'm sure all of you are aware of those loud plastic "click" sounds the car sometimes makes when hitting a bump. It could also be described as a "snap" type sound. This sound is similar.

Well, when I'm making a left, or right, hand turn and I'm using the turn signal, there is a singular, audible "snap" or "click" sound from the steering column while turning the wheel followed by another "snap" type sound while turning the wheel back. The "snap" on the way back happens before the turn signal resets itself. It almost seems like it is part of the turn signal mechanism that allows it to auto-reset upon completion of a turn. The problem is, it's awful noisy and seems to have gotten worse.

Does anyone else's car do this? If so, how loud is it? I can hear this sound over the radio.

There's already a thread on this issue and it's on the front page like 4 threads down...

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, this is not the same issue I am having. I already read that post. This noise only happens when the turn signal is on. It is not coming from the suspension/driveline. It is coming directly out of the steering column. It almost sounds like the auto-reset mechanism for the turn signal has gotten much noisier. I am wondering if everyone else's TL makes this noise too.
