Steering Vibration - New Wheels
Steering Vibration - New Wheels
I purchase an 05 TL 6-speed with 80k miles. It had steering wheel vibration at 70mph+ (tires less than 20% worn). I rotated tires - didn't fix. I had tires balanced - three of the four wheels were bent. I installed four new wheels - the vibration is a bit better, but still there at high speeds. Could the rotors (it has the Brembo brakes) be out-of-balance at 80k miles? I am not getting any pulsation when braking at any speeds.
Thanks for any help / suggestions.

Needs to be balanced. Look for a Hunter machine:

maybe due to the damaged wheels the tires have an uneven tread and even though you balanced them with the new wheels, that slight unevenness will show its self especially at higher speeds ... just a thought. Maybe you should give it some time to work its self out.
