So i just had my tranny replaced on my 2004 TL. Driving home I realized that the steering controls had stopped working and the airbag light is on in the dash. Seems to be a plug disconnected but I don't know where to check. I've checked all of the fuses, they are all fine. Someone help please. I saw these guys under the steering wheel doing something, I'm sure they unpluged something by accident.

No functionality.. no lights or function.

when they had the column disconnected they probably spun it and snapped the cable reel

 

Probably no horn either? Certainly the clockspring

 

I agree with BG74; it would have to be a clockspring. I had the same problem with my previous car - Mitsubishi Diamante...
