Squeeks and Rattles EVERYWHERE! Total crap!

I have had this car for 2000 miles. It rattles like it's got 100K miles on it. Every day there seems to be a new one. Whether it be the doors, dash, rear deck, seat belts, center speaker. I doesn't stop.

I am sooooo disappointed that a supposed high quality car has these issues. I wonder if the majority of owners have the squeeks and rattles problems. I believe they do.

I am beginning to seriously regret my purchase . I am highly considering trading the car in for another brand this weekend. I can't believe that I am even considering this, but it bothers me that much.

I KNOW that when I take it to the dealer, they will NOT hear anything and won't fix it. I can predict that I will be going back and forth to the dealer 10 or more times in the next year just for noises.

The car "sounds" like a 10K dollar car rather than a 35K . Do the most of you just live with it?

Unfortunately I have the same problem. I gave up on having a dealer take care of all these rattles as it will just add more problems. I just try not to think about it as I still like everything about this car except the rattles. The other day, I was driving over some eneven streets-the interior rattled like those plastic pieces were about to fall apart!

Oh, well....

I have 3 rattles that I've narrowed the source location. I've been keeping records b/c next time I travel for work, I can leave it with the dealer to get the problems fixed. I'm sure more will surface as time progress.

If only they made a non-scented wd-40 type fumigation bomb for cars like they do for killing pests.

My 2005 does not have any rattles yet, surprising considering how stiff the ride is.
If I DID get rattles, i would fix them myself, a bit of foam, some of those stick on rubber or foam feet, etc.

Rather than wasting time taking the car back to the dealers, just take care of it
myself...

It is true.
This TL inside is crap, cheap made car. (Design is very good, but quality on how these parts put together is just crap (like cheap ford or dodge)
Mine rattles everywhere too (Center console somewhere behind LCD screen, passenger door where it meets A pillar, B -pillar on passenger side)
I do regret that I sold mine 1995 Maxima (fully loaded) which had 130 000 miles and had ZERO rattles.
People on this forum advise to go to the dealer, but it will not help, b/c dealer always said it is normal, I can do nothing about or I hear no rattles. F%ck
I already tested RL and Lexus GS.
GS had some rattles too.
RL is underpowered.
I will try M35X when I have a chance.

i fixed the only subtle rattle i had in the center console upper storage area, inserting a sponge in the top part. this evening i went with my sister and mom to downtown toronto college street. the roads there are extremely bumpy with many potholes, and not to mention driving over streetcar rails. the tl performed perfectly, no rattles or weird noises. u were able to feel the bumps of course but the car absorbed them so all u could feel was that nice thump. i truly enjoyed the ride

Yes, my 04 TL has rattles too. My 1993 Infiniti G20 with 166,000 did not even rattle once, nor does my roommates used Lexus LS400 with 280,000 miles. I will not buy another Acura becuase of this. The dealer said it was, "normal and charastic of Hondas." Can you belive this? Hi, enjoy your $35,000 car, and if it rattles, up yours! The passenger door seals squeek even on smooth surfaces, the sunroof rattles, the rear deck lid rattles. Gosh, come to think of it, I can't even enjoy my stereo above volume 28-30 becuase the freaking decklid reverberates. This car is crap. Acura should have never released it with all these ralltes. I suggested to the dealer they fix it by taking it apart and putting sound deadning foam in and they told me, "Once we take it apart, all new things will start to appear." In other words Mr. Customer, Go !@$* yourself, stop talking to us about your measly problems, whats $35,000 anyway. Oh, they also told me I was the first to complain. Ha! I am going back to Infiniti for good.

Both my driver's and passanger front door seals squeek now. I have cleaned them to no avail. I am debating if I should use some sort of a rubber conditioner to keep them quiet. I wonder if 303 Aerospace is any good on the door seals. It fixed my dash and the nasty scuff marks on the B pillar from the seat belt buckle. Does anyone have any suggestions on the door seal squeal? Thanks.

I have one of the last '04 models and I have experienced several rattles in different areas. The day I took the car home, it had a rattle behind the nav area that the dealer fixed. Since then I have had rattles in the trim area of both front doors, rattles in the dashboard, a steering wheel rattle and a rattle in the rear that I pinpointed as the sunroof wires.

The rear rattle was temporarily fixed by the dealer, but I can still hear it over large bumps. The rattles in the dashboard come and go so I gave up trying to get the dealer to fix them. The rattles in the front door trims I fixed myself by installing sound accoustic material meant for silencing computers.

I think at this stage (12000 miles) I have no choice but to live with the rattles.

What bothers me more than the rattles is the hesitation I'm getting from the transmission. Sometimes it lags as if it had a turbo engine. It's just not smooth as compared to the '05 loaner cars I have driven on different occasion.

Don't hesitate to call Acura Client Services and let them know. They're VERY aware of these interior fit and finish issues with this car. If they seem blasé about it, keep at 'em....DON'T BACK DOWN! None of us should have to put up with this nonsense. Almost every dealer gets an '04 or '05 TL in service almost every day with rattle complaints.

I'm afraid I don't know how they fixed it, but they did say it was a loose screw. Since it was a day after I picked up the car, once they fixed it, I didn't care to focus on the issue anymore. My advice is to take it to the dealer and make sure you test drive the car with the technician. If you let them test drive on their own there's a good chance they will deny hearing anything.

At one point when the rattles were at their worst I made an appointment with the Regional Manager and after taking the day off to test drive with him, he admitted hearing the rattles, but argued with me profusely that all the cars exhibit rattles and that it would do more harm then good for them to try and fix them. Based on that conversation alone, I will never buy another Acura vehicle. In the meantime I keep trying to ignore the noises and wait for next vehicle purchase.

this car is still awesome. it definitely would be perfect to me if there were no interior rattles that some of us are unfortunate to be battling (mine have come and gone so far, we've experienced some extreme weather around here which may have been a factor).

but i dont think theres a car in this price range that looks as nice or has similar power to the TL. this car stands out. the infinity 4 door just isnt for me, i dont like the way it looks inside or out compared to TL. a well stocked 5 series would be next step up for me.. probably $10,000 more.

You simply apply some 303 Aerospace to the hard pastic B pillars, let dry and then wipe off. It's that simple. The scuff marks are similar to dry skin in the winter that flakes if you run your nail along it. The 303 helps to nourish the plastic just as lotion does for skin. It's held up for about a year now although it's not as effective. I will re-apply again in about a week.

Squeeks and rattles everywhere, total crap!

A $35,000 purchase worth hating myself for, face it, ACURA's have problems.

I still can't believe I waited this long to express how upset I am about this obscene slap in the face. The dealer keeps telling me all cars have it, I never once owned a car that did this, not even my 1990 Dodge Datyona Turbo made a peep and I drove it like I was in LaMans.

I have an idea, and I want someone or preferably many to do the same. I reccomend that all the people with problems, take heavy weight fish wire and string LEMONS around the car and drive around for a day or two and go to the dealership and ask them to fix the rattles for good, or esle the lemons stay. This is legal, right? They can't do anything about us having this on our cars and maybe they will get the message.

I miss my Infiniti G20, should have NEVER sold it and I promised the Infiniti gods I would be faithful. Is this my punishment?

My friends FX35 is way more fun to drive than this POS, the stereo sounds better, the exhaust is better and the engine revs HIGH! Oh, and NO RATTLES!

Of the four Acuras I've had, only the TL exhibits these squeaks and rattles. The NSXes, in particular, were built like bricks. I even had Koni Yellows and Comptech Sport springs on my silver NSX, which made the ride absolutely rock hard, but not once have I ever heard anything squeak or rattle in the car. Come to think of it, even the Legend didn't have any squeaks and/or rattles.

Could this, by any chance, be because the TL is assembled in the U.S.?
