Squealing when backing up....

just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. i have a 2007 TL S-type with about 77K miles on it. the problem is whenever i go into reverse, there's a high-pitched squealing from by rear tires. its not 100% consistent, but frequent enough to be VERY VERY annoying. i thought maybe its my brake pads, but i got them checked out and they were fine. maybe it could be the rotors??? idk. any ideas/input would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Does it only happen when you first drive the car for the day? My 350Z does this in the morning when backing out of the drive-way. I think it's just the surface rust. Try driving and braking a few times and then try backing up again to see if you still have the squeal. If not, it's was probably just the rust. If not, then, hmmmm.

Check your rear brake pads, it could be the wear indicators. I know you said you had them checked, but this sound like that...also might b the wheel bearings.

I actually have this same issue. I never really put much thought into it since it only occurs when it's cold outside. I should probably check out my brake pads to see the life on those.
