Squealing brakes at cold start up

The brakes on my 2008 Acura TL which has 26k miles squeal during the first few stops in the morning. The noise goes away after the car warms up. Just started happening. The squealing is very noticeable and embarrassing. What can the problem be?

Mine does the exact same thing. I was also wondering about this..... Guess it's normal.

I have the exact same problem... I'm going to clean the front brakes this weekend. I hope this helps.

with high performance brakes, squeal is normal, guys, as long as it quiets down after a few stops.

it's also winter, so moisture and crap get on the brake pad/disc.

i kinda cleaned the brake with WD-40 the other day cuz i thought maybe it's because it's dirty, for some reason I am not hearing the squeaking as often compare to before...maybe it's just the psychological thingie???

you put a lubricant on your brake pad/disc...?

if so you need to change your pads and clean the disc with brake cleaner.

Lol, I hope you didn't spray that stuff on the pad surface/rotors.

I did it with the wheels on, didn't spray too much. drove for 2 days until i realized it was a wrong move, took it a my friend's shop today, he took off the rotor and pad and deep cleaned it with brake cleaner, he didn't bother to ask me to replace the pads cuz he said i didn't need to, most of the WD-40 were burned off before i was there today.......=(
