Squeaky Sunroof

Anyone have any suggestions....I have a very squeaky sunroof, tried applying white lithium grease, silicon spray, nothing works. Brought it into the dealer, they couldn't fix it. They called acura tech support and were told to replace all of the gaskets. So I am waiting for the parts to come in and hopefully that will do it.

Anyone have a similar experience...or even better a quick solution, the noise is driving me crazy....Thanks.

Mine rattles a tiny bit when closed.

It makes a loud noise when I tilt it open/closed...haven't found a solution yet.

Let me know how you fair with the new gaskets.

Arrow Dealer Fixed it

When i open/close tilt the moonroof it would make a creaking sound, so the dealer greased the shit out of it and now its gone

Guess its something they forgot at the factory, my '99 Maxima already came greased up, and that car was built very solid.

ok, so I fixed it.

I cleaned all rubber edges of the sunroof as well as the wind deflector that pops up with alcohol and a rag. The creaking/rattling went away.

A couple of days later I put Aerospace 303 protectant on all of the surfaces that I had cleaned. It's gone, now.

yes, but make sure your surface is cool when cleaning. Follow up with some kind of protectant.

Not so fast, after a few days my squeak came back even louder. Took it back to the dealership and this time they dropped the headliner, added insulation, sound deadening tape, tightened everything, replaced the sunroof switch, etc. So far the sound is gone, but I will have to wait a few more days to make sure...

I have similar problem, i think it's an honda thing

I had it on my 2000 accord coupe on my 2003 accord coupe and now on my TL. Changing your rubber will correct the problem just for a short period of time.

I think the rubber qulity they use is in cause. Same problem was with the seal on the door the part where the glass rest when it's closed.

I use silicon lubricant and it does the job for one or two months. The secret is too know where to put it

On the seal that is around the glass and on the rubber parts that are in front and in the back. there are fixed on the body of the car. I don't know if it's clear, but if you open your roof, on the front, under the plastic part that lift to avoid wind you will see a long and thin rubber and you will find the same on the rear part where the roof slide. For the rear part just tilt the roof and with a cloth ,to avoid that some stuff go on your leather, spray the lubricant. Depending on the spray you will reach this rubber. It's not easy with hand and sometimes the metal here can't cut your fingers. I tested it.

I noticed also it depends on the weather , if it's humid or raining the problem dissapear

If it's dry it appears again. I suspected that because i always put my car in the garage it increase the problem of drying seals

I have the sound loud creak when I tilt up. So you say this creak is
actually coming from the gear, the metal lever that pushes it up or down,
the rubber against rubber...Explain more.

It's sounds like it's NOT the mechanical part (as I thought), but rather the rubber
parts. Can somebody whose fixed this, explain in detail where they
think the sound is coming from.
