Squeaking noise on cold start?
Could I have a loose belt? On cold starts, it squeaks anywhere from a few seconds to like a minute.
After searching, i found tsb 10-035, but the videos of people with that issue sound more like a chirp.

sounds like a belt and tensioner. see if the tensioner is stable or moves back and forth. my understanding is that it is supposed to stay relatively in the same place and not "bounce" back and forth. the movement in the tensioner allows the belt to slip.
i just had my belt and tensioner replaced and the sound is gone. the new tensioner doesn't seem to move as much as the old one.

Also, this falls under powertrain correct? I'm still within the 6 year powertrain warranty so I think I may be able to get the dealership to do it for free.
EDIT: nvm, looks like only the timing belt is covered under warranty.

i had the dealer replace the tensioner under Acura Care warranty but i had to pay to replace the belt. The noise is gone. my belt was the original and had been on for nearly 7 years so guess it was just time.
^ Did it cure the squeeking noise? Also did you need a pulley puller or just a socket wrench? And what did the tensioner pulley cost? I could use my warranty to get this fixed or if it's that easy i can do it myself.
Yes it did cure the squeak
the pulley was 11.52 from oemacuraparts
Used a size 14 socket, and slide a pipe over it and pushed it towards the back of the engine as far as I could.
Then slip the belt off the power steering pump( this should keep it from sliding off the other pulleys.
Then remove the bolt. Just remember its a reverse thread bolt.
Take it off, put new one one and slide belt over it.
Might be intimidating to change but its easier than changing a tire.
My new compressor belt came in the mail last night so I'll install it tonight. I'll let you guys know if the noise goes away. For the past 2 days it has been a lot worse. Now the squeaking persists even when I start driving, and goes away after a few minutes.
So I pulled off the old belt, it seems perfectly fine. I spun all the pulleys, and the alternator pulley gives off a slight high pitch noise when spun so I think that's the culprit. Should i just put on the new belt and see what happens?
The problem will be with the bearing holding the pulley in place. if that is the source of your noise.
