A-Spec Front Lip Problem

I just got my A - Spec body kit installed on my 04 DMM by the dealer. Rear and sides installed perfect. Front lip is a little pain to look at. It's not sticking enough from both sides when the curve of the bumper meets the wheel. I have seen this problem on almost every front lip installation. Wondering what you guys have done to get that gap closed. At the moment it looks like the 3m tape is not holding and the lip is about to come off.

04-06's really have to fight with this problem. They fixed it with the zip ties deals on the 07-08 lips.

Make sure all the surfaced have been cleaned with a light solvent for the adhesive to stick well. Try removing the OE tape and get some better stuff. I believe that wider, more foamier type stuff works better. Also use more of it.

There is another DIY thread about removing the OE tape with a adhesive removing product, goo something. Not goo gone, but something that sounds similar. If you heat it up, it might just peel off too, the OE double sided tape is not the best.

you need to buy 3M heavy duty double side foam tape like powerflow suggests... i did this on my Aspec kit about 80,000 miles ago and it's been fine since... the OE tape is actually 3M as well, but they only use a single layer and it's only 1/2" wide... doesn't even have a chance for decent fitment

I actually doubled the thickness of the tape by using two layers.
