I just picked up a new TL-S and when I open the trunk from the remote it sounds like a frog...rabitt!!! The sound is coming from the locking mechanism. It sounds different then when I opened my 06 TL trunk. The 06 would just make a POP sound....like every other car I have owned.

Is the locking mechanism different between the 06 vs. 08? Anyone else notice a sound difference between years?

 

I imagine its because the actuator hasn't seen much action, still breaking in.

take it to the dealer, it might need to be lubed or replaced...
