Smell antifreeze but cant figure out from where.

I been smelling antifreeze, Ive looked the whole car over and cant find anything!

Is there a way to see the waterpump seep hole? That's the only thing I cannot see.

There is no antifreeze ever on the ground tho.

The car does not overheat either, but I better catch it before it does!

The reservoir cap is busted, there is a crack in it. Like the top is popping off. I tried to silicone it for now but not sure if that's where its coming from or not.

That would be a primary suspect.

It's been like that tho for like a year. So Im thinking its not that. Im more worried about checking the waterpump seephole, but is there anyway to view it?

Why don't you get a new cap? That'd be my first plan of action in this case.

Resorvoir cap should not be the cause of loosing coolant, but I'd put a pressure tester on the radiator when cold and check for leaks. Make certain radiator is filled to top, then pump the tester up to @ 18lbs, let sit and watch the needle. If it drops then fluid is leaking smewhere. May need to pump it up to maintain the pressure and sometimes it takes quite a while to find the leak. Don't forget the heater core.

Which cap are you referring to - reservoir or radiator?

Having the same issue as OP! I smell a faint sweet smell of coolant. Replaced broken overflow reservoir cap and radiator cap over a year ago. (Found cap broken randomly, so replaced both and tube running from radiator to overflow). No visible leak at all, and no overheating either. Guess I may have to do a pressure test?

Original radiator on my 2004. Also haven't replaced timing belt or water pump yet. 72K miles

Also Check the heater control valve, it's behind the motor right above the rear motor mount, those tend to leak over time and it will leak coolant over a hot engine causing a coolant smell.

This ^

I'd say its the more common spot to leak along with the reservoir tube.

Replace your radiator cap and check your radiator fans for functionality.

You'll see dried up green somewhere. Check the bottom of the radiator. How much and how often do you refill the reservoir?

Checked heater control valve, no apparent signs of leaking coolant. No coolant leaks on floor or around radiator, or in engine bay.

Like I posted previously I replaced coolant reservoir overflow cap (common crack around top), radiator cap, and tubing running from radiator to overflow reservoir (over a year ago). The tubing had a Lil bit of green spray around it, so that's why I replaced those parts.

Going to replace radiator, is the rockauto part number "Denso 2213221" good for OEM replacement?

(#19010RDAA51, 19010RDAA52)

radiator cap is 3yrs old, anything else I should order?

Mechanic and I checked both hoses, both look and feel fine. He recommended not replacing thermostat. As it doesn't seem to be a problem.

I was thinking more of the "petcock" drain, and possibly Heater control valve. (Although no leaks from either.)

Heater control valve...

Do a search, Majofo did a DIY on replacing it. It's a ~$30 part.
