I have three or four small rust spots and the end of my hood right next to were it meets the grill. You can see it in the attached picture. The weather has been crappy here in western, pa. We have several days of subzero temps with a ton of salt on the road. I do all highway driving so I know my front end takes some abuse. I think I probably had somechips and the salt nestled in and created rust.

Does this make sense? How can I prevent it other than a 3M clear bra? Should I get an WDP paint stick or see what the dealer can do. Its still under warranty.

 

ARe you sure it's ruse from the metal of your car? frequently i used to get little specs of metal hit the clear coat that would rust .. a little bug and tar remover ($5.99 at walmart) took care of it no problem... it almost wiped right off.

WDP and SS are notorious for getting these...

 

that is from undustrial waste and fallout sticking to the clear of your car. i recommend a clay treatment followed by a mild polish and NXT tech wax.

Better hope it's only rust in your clear coat, on the surface. If that is actually rust coming from under the paint it will need to be sanded and repainted. Don't let it pit the metal, take of this really soon.

 

yea i had alotta rust spots on my TL...acura said too bad since it didnt eat through the metal..but since someone decided to hit me and wreck my ish..all my rust fot taken care of

 

clay bar should take care of it
