Recently on my 06 TL the front passenger side side marker starting flashing really fast, what could be the issue? I don't want to spend $40 on a new side marker when the issue is probably some else. Thanks in advance for any help.

 

your side marker is blinking fast? or your turn signal?

 

Side marker not the turn signal.

 

i assume you have stock OEM sidemarkers? check fuses under the hood/steering wheel area. if it comes down to it, pop off the sidemarker and make sure its connected properly.

 

Yes, they are stock. I dont think its the fuse if it is wouldn't it affect both side markers??

Good question, its Random.

 

I would replace the side marker.

You could pull the unit and measure the voltage at the light. This could be tricky to do with relatively rapid transients and a cheap meter, but a small halogen bulb or scope should sort it out.

It's probably a bad bond wire on an LED die in the light itself.

Bringing this back from the dead. I'm having the same issue. Did you replace the entire side marker or just the light in there?

 

Side marker is a pcb board with LEDs soldered on it so it'll have to be the whole thing unless you feel like troubleshooting the individual components.

 

I have a great DIY on replacing the LEDs inside the sidemarker here on acurazine....look it up

 

The side marker on the passenger side went out completely 2 weeks ago. Driver side started flickering last night. Am sure if won't be long. Guess it's time to replace them. Anyone recommend a good online site for purchase?

2004 TL, 121K miles - original side marker lights.
