idk mine did the same once or twice... it almost sounded like it was clicking or it got off track or something... then i put it in drive, then back to reverse and it went away... i live in FL and it happed when it was hot outside so idk about the cold weather... i would say just be careful when your washing the car not to push too hard on the mirror...

Mine doesn't move smooth either and "jitters" also.

I'm not that fussy.
As long as it still works, I'm not fussing about it.

this is a common problem on the TL's, the assembly either needs to be lubed up well or replaced. Most dealers replace the whole assembly as it's easier.

I have an 06 TL & my right mirror does the same thing. When you switch to the left mirror for reverse tilt, it's not a problem. I never thought this was an issue till I read all the other posts. I'm still under extended warranty so I think I'll get it fixed.

I found with mine that simply moving the mirror as far as it can go in every direction solved the problem. I guess the grease that it is applied to the little jackscrew mechanisms needs to be spread out once in a while.

There's a TSB about it. If the car is under warranty, it should be free, and it looks like it should take about 15 minutes if they have the part:

Mine does it too, I need to take it in.
