do anyone experience this problem? my side airbag light on the dash come on intermittenly. is that normal? i notice this same problem in my previous acura tl (2g) that i owned as well. just curious what is causing it.

Is someone sitting in the passenger seat? If they lean against the door and on one side of seat, side airbag light turns on indicating that it is turned off...guess in case of accident airbag wont hurt occupant.

I get this in my RL from time to time. I'm not sure what causes it but it appears to change depending on passenger's position in the seat.

I occasionally have my gym bag in the passenger seat that makes this occur.

It's a certain weight that triggers it.

this same thing happens to me and i have ABSOLUTELY nothing in the pasenger seat...its pretty wired. i was thinking it was a sensor or sumtin...not sure..anyone?

do you guys read the owner manual? it has a lot of great info

OPDS Occupant Position Detection System=
weight sensors in the seat bottem and back compare set parameters to determine if passenger is leaned over against the window or layed way back with the seat, or child weight in front..
Anything can trigger it for weight, take-out food, briefcase,,seemingly small items will freak the computer

When the side airbag yellow light is ON, the side airbag is OFF

if your passenger really is sitting in a bad position in a crash- the side bag could break their neck as it deploys

call acura 1-800-382-2238x5 and ask if any extended warranty on SRS system for your vin
gen2 has a special 10year/150kmile SRS warranty! maybe gen3 does too
Go speak with the Service MANAGER, ask if any TSBs on the prob

stop by a parts store and ask for a free code reading - thats cheapest start to diagnostic

^ if there is nothing in the seat then weight is not the case for some folks.
