Shifting questions

So i just purchased a 2008 acura tl type s. Car runs and rides great but i had a quick question. Maby this is normal maby it is not as i am not used to how these cars drive. I am still getting used to all the buttons. However when i drive it in automatic not the manual speed shift it runs great. However when i am going the average speed and then slow down to a stop light or stop sign the car seems like it is almost driving like a manual. It is not like any other car I have drove and it has a really small jerk where the rpms go up a lil and then it drops a gear and slows down. (kinda as if u were to downshift in a manual car) This is very slight but you can still feel it and the rpm needle moves a little up. Is this normal. Maby i am not used to the vtec engine or what not.

Any thoughts most appreciated.

I am a noob and that is also why i am joing the site to get some good info.

Thanks again in advance.

The Type-S rev matches on downshifts.

Also the downshift from 2 --> 1 coming to a stop seems kind of harsh/sharp/abrupt.

As you slow towards a stop the transmission will automatically downshift. In some cars its more pronounced than others.
