Hey guys, I have an 08 TL with 57K on it. It runs well, minus the terrible gas mileage I get in the city. Are there any special services you guy recommend me do to the car? I live in Florida and don't drive the car a whole ton - but like I said, it runs well. I typically will bring the car to my usual guy and have the car looked over/oil changed/lubed. I just hate my gas mileage issue. I fill full with 91-93octane and after 50 miles, I'm almost at half a tank. Wondering if a tune-up or something may help.

 

If you really only get 50 miles from about 7 gallons, you've got some big issues.

 

As with the twenty million other mileage threads, please post your stats from your MID showing miles, MPG, and average speed. Once we have that info, we may be able to chime in a bit if the mileage is actually low or normal for the speeds being driven. Flat out expect under 20MPG easily if you are averaging under 30MPH. These cars get great highway mileage, but if you get stuck in stop and go traffic, the MPG drops very very quickly.

 

look on your gps and see if you have any service warnings for your emissions system. smthg might have been overlooked and needs to be fixed.

and try not to go over 2000rpm and/or 65mph...

 

Yeah, not even thinking. I noticed that my average speed is 20mph - freaking Tampa traffic. Ooops.

But as my OP, do you guys do any special servicing besides what's written in the book?
