Service A24 due soon

This just came up on my MID (2004 TL). I have 105K miles. I assume this is for the timing belt, etc. which is due at this mileage, but I can't find this code described anywhere. Since I already had the belt, etc., done at 96K miles, I just want to make sure it is safe to reset the MID.

Thanks.

That's A two and four: Page 195 and 199 of the owner's manual (at least the 2004 manual).

A: oil change

2: replace air filter, dust and pollen filter, inspect drive belt
4: replace timing belt, spark plugs; inspect water pump, valve clearance.

Not really sure it's a big deal, but since you didn't reset the minder at 96K when you replaced the timing belt, the next warning will come 9K late on the next timing belt reminder. Probably not going to be a factor for you.

Thanks.

That is a big fail for the dealer on the MID reset after the timing belt job.

The oil was just done today, so I'm good to go.

And you're probably right about the car not lasting until 210K miles.

From a dealer (minus the Hamilton Honda in NJ ~$380 deal) it should be around $1000-1200.

Indy shops will probably be around $700-900 depending on where you go.

did your car code the "4" when you had your TB changed? or did you change it before the car asked b/c you were concerned about it as you approached 100K mi and did the TB anyway?

if the car never coded 4 then the dealer has nothing to reset.
