Serious engine vibration at 1200-2000 rpm problem
Hello everyone,
I've been searching and googling a lot about the issue I'm having, but having no luck so far.
I recently bought a 2004 TL 6MT with 107K miles on it. I knew the engine mounts were busted, lots of vibrations at all RPMs, so I bought new XLR8 mounts and had a local mechanic install them. He also installed a new O2 sensor as the check engine light told him to do so.
HOWEVER, the car has serious, and I mean serious, vibrations between 1200-2000 RPM. When I'm at idle it's all smooth. After 2,000 RPM it feels normal again...
But when the RMP goes past 1200 the car starts shaking... Doesn't matter what gear, rolling or still, or at what speed or if cold or hot. 1200-2000 RPM just starts vibrating a lot. I might take a video next time I'm driving to document it.
My mechanic doesn't know what the issue is either and he's thinking the previous guys might have installed the harmonic balancer wrong... or something else was installed wrong after the timing belt change was done a little while ago (by the previous owner).
Any help or theories on what could be wrong would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Hey
I have the same problem, I feel the vibration around 1800 rpm, even at park If I accelerate or decelerate. I have 2004 Tl automatic with 15000 km. The only thing which comes to my mind is that the torque converter is out of balance.
Any ideas
Thanks
