Seat not fixed after 4 trips to the dealer
Whenever someone is sitting in the passenger seat of my 05 tl the seat creaks, I have taken it to the dealer 4 times now, twice they have greased it, one time they replaced the base of the seat, and one time they replaced something else in the seat. All of this has been under warranty, but the noise is still there. Now I have about 35,000 miles on the car and the warranty is about to expire. I took it in today and told them this is bs, there is no reason why this shouldn't be fixed by now. They apologized and said they would take care of it.
Do you guys have any advice on how I should handle this if it comes back and the noise is still there, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Its a documented problem before warrenty is up. Means that they have to fix it for free after warrenty still if they didnt fix it the first time.
But yes, it is silly.
Passenger seat issue though? Look under it and see if you see a metal tab that looks like it hits the carpet. apparently there is a bare metal spot there and if you stick some felt on the tab is can get rid of the buzz.

Is it a buzzing like geekybiker indicates? Or, is it a true squeak that sounds like a spring in an old bed? I had the latter, and found the answer here on the forums. My dealer did the work, but did it based on what I had mentioned I read on here.
Basically, it was some sort of a guide or something under the seat (which apparently requires the removal of the seat) that needs to have some felt tape placed on it.

This was the overall concept of what I told my dealer. But, I don't know what it is that they actually did (I never checked - it was fixed, why did I care?). Hope it helps...

I just got back from the dealer, I was told that they had to shave something down that was on the base of the seat. So maybe what they did was somewhat along these lines, I'll have to check it out because the sound is completely gone. Thanks for all the help

Hope your issues are resolved.
FWIW: My dealer did tell me that they installed some felt tape as part of my "repair". Maybe you should consider sliding something under that "clip" that's shown as the "culprit" in the thread I posted above... just to be sure.

And, if I'm not mistaken, there was a publication issued to the dealers about the seat. I just don't know what was in it for details/repair instructions.
