So I am extremely annoyed by the rear deck rattle and decided to take everything apart to see what was going on. I only hear the rattle when I turn up the bass.

So after taking off the rear seats and deck, I turned up the volume and bass and it was very obvious that the middle seat retractor was rattling.

I first tried to fix the rattle with dynamat. I pretty much dynamatted the whole rear deck, even put dynamat between the subwoofer and rear deck.

The bass sound a lot tigher, but the seat belt retractor rattle just won't go away. I try to put more dynamat all around the seat belt retractor and it didn't help. The only way to stop the rattle is to hold or pull the seat belt retractor tight.

So my last solution, REMOVED THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR. I started the music again and pray. NO MORE RATTLE.

Now the problem. the middle seatbelt is tied together with the passenger seat belt buckle. The only way to remove it is either cut the seat belt or cut a slit in the metal for the seat belt to come out.

Have anyone removed their seat belt retractor to fix the rattle? I was reading it on the forum but coudln't find it again.

 

I'm in the same boat,even covered the whole thing in dynomat.
