Seat belt issue on 3G TL?
My rear passenger right side seat belt retractor doesn't seem to retract as much as all the other seat belts. sometimes i'll have to manually push it up for it go retract back. Is this a common problem for 3G TL's?

Yes it is, especially for the driver's belt. Half the time I get out I have to manually retract it so I don't close the door with the thing hanging out and end up slamming the door on it. Can't tell you how many times I go back to the car to see the belt sticking out from under a closed door. What a pain in the ass!

my drivers seat belt works fine, but its only the rear right seat belt that seems weak. honestly it doesnt bother me as the driver but after my passengers sit in the car, and they usually leave it dangling down because they dont know about the problem and i'll be the one retracting it back up. However I know the seat belts supposedly have lifetime warranty...but I dont know if this is a big enough issue to warrant a replacement.

according to many other honda car forums with civics, integras, etc they seem to have gotten free replacements when the seat belts stopped retracting since it has lifetime warranty

yep they cover the retracting mechanism.
semi-related story: i brought my old 93 Integra to the Sierra Acura in Alhambra because the automatic belts it was equipped with stopped working properly. The guy opened my door, checked the reel mechanism and said yeah it reels back kinda slow. I indicated that wasnt the real problem, but that the belt mechanism on the door frame failed to work.
Apparently the reel and belt is covered, but not the auto belt mechanism. I left a tirade on yelp in regards to that fact. It's ridiculous that it's not considered part of the seat belt system.
and they do have a lifetime belt warranty. it's in the manual.

I've got the same issue with the rear passenger belt. I rarely have people in the back, but when I do, they always leave it dangling.
I'll try getting it replaced by Acura and post back.

Yes, seat belt issues by law need to be resolved for free regardless of the circumstances. It is a safety law they imposed for all dealerships, most people are scared and think it is costly for seat belts; not too far fetched coming out of a stealership. I had my belt with a small tear about a cm long, and they replaced it for free without my knowledge when I took my car in for service. *Not my acura, but they will and have too.

i wonder how weak does the retractor mechanism need to be in order to qualify for the replacement? cuz mine does retract back but just need a little guidance from me pushing it up

I took my car in today to the dealership for a free seat belt replacement. Waited there for approx 2 hours while it was being worked on. Problem is, the brand new seat belt feels the same as the old one? Does it need some time for it to break in for it to be stronger? My middle rear seat belt is the strongest by far, and retracts 100% all the time.

I've confirmed they did give me a new seat belt since the manufacturing tag on it says 2015. If this is just inherent of the car, I'll live with it, however if it's supposed to be stronger, I definitely want to get it fixed.

ok I went to the Acura dealer to pick up my car from getting the rear-passenger seat belt replaced. We went and checked another 3G TL ('08) and that seat belt was the exact same way. So for whatever reason that specific seat belt is floppy and not tight like the others. Possibility also exists that it is slower when it's really cold out and may hang up more. So some irregularity in that seat belt is normal. My original seat belt, replacement seat belt and other '08 TL all have the same non-tightness compared with the other 4 belts in the car.
Just thought I'd update this with my findings.
