Scrapping noise from the drivers side rear wheel

I drove my car yesterday and it didn't make any noise, but today when i started driving it is started making this noise. It sounds like it's doing it ever time the wheel goes around. Just scrap, scrap, scarp. Also when you first start out going forward it moans.

The tires looks okay, the break fluid looks okay and at least the outside of the break pads look okay. I took off vsa and hit the breaks hard to make sure that the car stopped strait. It did fine. It doesn't feel like the car is dragging the wheel it actually feels normal it's just making this horrible noise. It seems to do it regardless of whether or not my foot is on the break. The car does not shake. The repetition of the noise is based on how fast the car is going. It doesn't seem to do it when I go in reverse. When i hit the breaks it seems to make the noise more constant.

There doesn't appear to be anything obviously wrong. Anybody else experience this before?

Also, I tried hosing it off to see if maybe there was just some junk stuck to the rotors. When I drove off it was fine for about the first 1/10th mile then it slowly went back to what it's been doing. It's very loud.

Have a professional check the brakes. You cant tell anything from the outside, and the TL hides the pads really well, need to remove the wheels and calipers to know whats going on. 30k miles is about right for front brake pads, if you have been driving around with the squeeler tab hitting the rotor every time you step on the brakes, it will be time to resurface the rotors or replace with upgraded models.

Hosed off the rotors?- and you think the pads are ok from the outside!!- thats hilarious- thanks I needed a good laugh today

You are also due for a full brake fluid change, that will improve the pedal feel and remove compressed condensation from the system.
google: hygroscopic

I just hosed them off because I thought there might be dirt on them, since some cars will make noise because of that. Didn't want to be worried about nothing. Thanks for the info though. I'll get an apt with the dealer to see what they think.

bend over at the dealer for a brake job
Dont you have a private shop that can look at it for less and fix it for half the cost?
Dealer- at least 300- to start
