Safety mode, power loss,

Safety mode, power loss,
While accelerating up a freeway ramp, my 06 TL lost power, all the warning lights came on, (at 220k thought I blew the timing belt). Fortunately the engine was still running, but would stall out over 3,000 rpm. able to up shift enough to get on the freeway, and get off at the next exit and get home, only 2 miles. Parked trying to figure out if I should tow it or drive to mechanic.
Just in for the oil change, filters, etc, and was about to schedule the timing belt, clutch (original) replacement and valve adjustments. I love this since I drove it off the lot in 06'. Would like to get another 100k out of it.

Hmmm. Maybe try resetting the ECU first (pull negative battery cable off for a few minutes). If it's still acting up then I'd probably take it in. Alternatively, if you have an OBD2 scanner, you could scan for codes. If the timing belt is old I suppose there's a chance it could have skipped a notch or two, which would certainly goof things up but probably keep the engine chugging along. But if it skips more than 2, maybe 3? Then you'll start bending valves. Then you'll be in a world of hurt.

Safe mode power loss
Thanks guys, for all you wonderful advice. I pulled the negative battery cable off. It reset everything, drove a couple miles, seems to be working. Now I drive to the shop. Kat
