Question RPM going up right before complete stop

Is this happening to anyone else? Right before the car stops completely, the RPM is jumping up from 700rpm to 900 rpm and then goes back to 700rpm at complete stop. It is like I hit the gas while I am on the brake. lol
Very strange. Could it be from all the mods that might cause this? lol

See, I didn't pay too much attention before, but now with the XLR8 exhaust, it is soo noticeable. I just want to make sure this is normal and it is not something that I need to look into it.

If it's a 5at it's normal and caused by one of two things. One is the trans downshifting to first gear as you're nearly stopped. The other is you're in fuel cut while decelerating. The injectors are off but they will come back on once you get down to a certain speed to avoid stalling the engine.

It can be felt in the 6mt also when the injectors come back on.

Exhaust makes the transition from engine off to engine on more audible.

^ I was just going to say that. I have the 5AT, which is my first Automatic car... and I figured this was normal downshifting to 1st gear. The only thing I don't like about this is that it jerks the car a bit. The first time it did that, scared the crap out of me. lol

The second thing makes sense to me and lately stated to bother me more and more since I can hear the exhaust. Before with the stock exhaust, I did not notice this happening. Thanks IHC. Now I can start working on the trans and my brakes.

Are you noticing this with the stock exhaust or you have an aftermarket?
