Not sure if this is normal for the TL or not, this is the first one I've owned. Starting the car seems a bit rough, feeling a thump after it cranks and I also notice the car idles a little rough. The engine sounds very aggressive when excellerating and I love that. Just wanted to see if its pretty normal to have a bit of vibration at idle.

Welcome to the forum. This area is for second gen (99-03) As for your issue, I'd suggest maybe starting by checking your motor mounts. Perhaps browse the third gen forum and see if others have this issue as well and see their solutions.

As Mil Dave advised, the folks over next door on the 3rd Gen could be of greater assistance with your '06 TL. Like Dave said, chances are that your mounts are causing the vibration and thunk ! .....Starting & idling rough along with the aggressive accelerating sounds, reminds of the old '70s muscle cars, hah ...ha !
