Rough Idle

I have recently purchased a 2005 TL AT Navi and I have noticed while I am at a stop it feels like the car has a slight miss. Is this normal? It does this on a regular basis, but it is more noticable while in drive. I have owned a standard for the past 7 years and was wondering if this is common for automatics?

It feels like the car is missing. It will idle smoothly and then it will feel like it misses a few times then it is back to normal for a a few seconds then it does it again. I was just wondering if others are having this problem.

It's a common problem, i had it on my 2003 coupe accord 4 ctl , have it on my TL

There is a TSB that consist of changing engine mounts and other parts it won't correct a lot the problem.

If you use the AC you will feel it more.

Some said it's a VTEC thing

I know it's not normal but it's normal for HONDA ACURA

A civic has less vibration than our TL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had my 05 TL a/t for about a month now, and my car is doing the same exact thing. Im gonna make an appointment and bring it in to the dealer to have it looked at. Mine also used to have a chirping sound, which was the heat shield and that was replaced. And now it sounds like something is vibrating when im accelerating, and theres a loud and obnoxious humming sound when accelerating. Anyone know what any of this could be???

I have the rough idle too. I was told by the dealer it is normal. Someone on the forum also posted this is normal when the car is cold, as it is ULEV and it does this to try to reduce emissions.

I have a 05 6 speed and ive noticed that if you press on the gas just a little (when at a standstill) and hold the RPMs around 1,000 the car seems to run a little rough/miss... nothing like really bad, but you can feel a little something.. i'm going to ask the dealer about it I think..

I have an 05 AT and haven't noticed rough idling. There's a little vibration when I first start it (cold), but it subsides after a minute or two.

Pretty much the same in my MT. When the temps are below about 45 to 50 deg F, and the engine is cold, the car will idle at about 1Krpm and be rough. As soon as it warms up it goes back to normal rpms and is very smooth. Many other posts claim this is part of the emissions controls while the car is cold. I believe that. Cars belch out the majority of crap when they are cold. Part of being ULEV is getting the car warm fast and aggressively controlling emissions while doing so.

I have the same exact issue as you described. I've also noticed that the vibration does not go away completely after a minute or two. It will subside a little after driving the car on the highway for a while but will come back when stopped at a red light. It is a little annoying but I've since gotten used to it. Eventually I will have to bring it up with my dealer.

Please keep us posted if your dealer finds anything.

I had the exact same problem when I first got my car. And as it turned out, the gas from my local gas station was bad, with deisel in it. Something to consider
