Rough at 1,600 RPM Coasting...

Hey, first of all let me thank you all for your help. I've been searching through the site for help to get my newly aquired 2004 TL Nav into shape. I picked it up last week with 95K miles in a need of a little TLC.

I've replaced the Bluetooth module (works great now!), ordered all new lights for the streering wheel (will be installed this weekend), and also ordered new plugs (also to be installed this weekend). I'm also putting a new cerp belt on to hopefully resolve a squeaking problem under the hood.

So onto my question... when driving at normal cruising speed (45 - 55mph) and just barley touching the throttle, there is a vibration in the pedal and a bit through the car. I can get it to happen exactly when I'm at 1,600 RPM. If I get into it a bit, it goes away. If I let out of it, also gone. It's just in that 1,600 range.

The idle is a bit rough, hence the plugs. Although I'm not sure that will fix the 1,600 RPM vibration, i was hoping it may help.

Anyone have any ideas for me? I'm way out of warranty however I did get the extended warranty. Any thoughts???

Thanks in advance!
Bert

Bluetooth didn't link to the phone. Would freeze up any time I tried to do anything with it. I found a lnother module from an '06 that fit right in. Took 5 minutes. Works great now. Cost $100 from a salvage yard plus shipping. Plenty of help on how to install on this site.

The yard I got mine may have another if you need one. Let me know and I'll give you the details.

Very common driveline vibration problem.. easy fix. Others have reported driveline vibration associated with torn compliance bushings in the LCA as well but it sounds like you just need the dampener installed to cure your vibration.

Thanks Majofo. I was earching all the wrong things. Finally I just started reading through all of the posts and I got schooled. Classic.

It does sound like I need a damper. Now I just have to find one and install. I change the belt and air cleanr today. WOW. What a difference. Idle is amazingly smooth now and no more squeal. Plugs, damper and new steering wheel lights this weekend should keep me set for a while.
Thanks again!
