Ripped leather, do you think dealer will replace?
Conventional wisdom here on the forum is that the leather in the '04 TLs is sub-par. Yesterday I had my friend in the car. He had on pants with *round* metal buttons on the pockets. His ass sliding against the passenger side bolster caused several deep cuts.
If he had been carrying a pen in his pocket or something sharp I'd chaulk it up to him being a jackass, but this was a simple metal button. You think the dealership will be willing to replace it under warranty? Seems to me a quality leather would have held up.
God, I hope.

Metal buttons should not rip leather. I'd think that they would take care of the problem if the warranty is still active. Good luck!

Had an excellent repair recently performed by the "seat surgeon", and was only 100$. He does work in the NJ/Philly area, and you may have to meet him at one of the car dealerships he services, though he does work for some Acura dealerships. Note: The dealership can mark up as much as 100%, so contact him directly.
