I have had a problem with my right side mirror when putting the car in reverse. For the past two months when I put the car in reverse the right mirror will tilt down, but sluggishly and with more noise than normal. The left mirror is still smooth and silent. I contacted Superior Acura of Fairfield Ohio where I bought the car and they want me to bring the car in, leave it with no loaner. Then they say I will probably have to bring it back if it needs a new mirror. I live 30 miles from this dealer. Their service sucks. This is warranty work and I should be given a loaner and it should be done in one day. Anyone know how to fix this without taking it in?

Your problem is with an actuator - I had mine replaced but just did it when I took it in for other service. Now the left one is doing the same thing...

 

I had the same issue with my passenger mirror when it was tilting in reverse. When I bought it to the dealer, the service manager got in the car and played around with the mirror adjustment knob.. making the mirror go up and down and sideways as if you were positioning it to fit your needs. After he did that, the problem went away. Tilts perfectly in reverse. Has been 2 months since. So you may want to try toying with the controls for a bit and see if that works.

 

Same thing for me playing up and down and dissapear but reappear quickly. I think it happens when water rich the back of the mirror, during cleaning or rain.

They replace mine and know it's ok.
