Resetting transmission

New owner 2008 base TL.

I’ve heard somewhere you can reset transmission to factory settings. Do I put key in position I or II and floor the gas pedal for 35 seconds, turn off and restart the car ? Do I have to take out the keys from ignition when I turn off ?

Also I do not like memory setting feature for seats and mirrors on this car. How do I disable it. Thank you.

Turn the car on, so all light on the dashboard are illuminated (check engine, oil pressure, battery) but don't start the engine, and hold gas pedal to the floor for ~10 seconds. That's it.

It resets how car reacts to the throttle input. Makes it feel faster, stays in lower gear longer, etc., but doesn't make the car faster if you floor it. Feels nice tho so I reset mine from time to time.

To disable the memory setting, hold lock and unlock buttons for ~1 sec. I'm assuming they mean with the key in the hand, not in ignition switch. LED on remote should blink twice if it unlinked.

Thank you sir. I’ll try this to disconnect my remote. On second thought I’m installing Viper remote start soon, so I’m thinking this is a moot point. I’ll have new remotes. Let me try that transmission reset. Thank you.

peter6, Thanks for the 'indirect' validation!

The 3G keyless procedure is not very different from the (more specific) 2G procedure I posted on the OP's thread below 11 days ago.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Really appreciate it. Got my transmission reset.

Just got here at Best Buy to install remote start. I was expecting they would use viper product but looks like they will be installing Compustar remote car start. I’ve had viper in my Camry for last 15+ years and it has worked flawlessly so far. Hopefully compustar is of same quality.

Anyways I won’t be using factory remote anymore. So not sure if my settings for seat and mirror are any concern.
