Resetting ECU

Does anyone recall the post about resetting the ECU? As I recall, with the engine off, turn the key "ON". Depress the throttle to the floor and hold down for at least one minute. As I remember, this helps with the 04 TL shifting problems by cleaning all the garbage out of the ECU, similar to doing a hard reboot of your PC. I tried it yesterday and although I have only driven about 20 miles, it did seem to shift better and to have more PEP! Any comments?
