Replacing passenger seat heater

Has any one had to replace the passenger seat heater on their 3G TL? I took the seat out and checked for continuity as per the service manual. There is no continuity. Does the entire seat cushion need to be replaced to replace the heating element?

Looking at the part schematics it looks like you just replace the heater element.

Look here at this link, this is for a 2008:

Thanks, I happen to find that same diagram after I posted. Does not look like a fun project.
If any one has any tips please share.

Thanks in advance

My passenger seat heater is not working, would this be the case? Would it be a pricy thing for the dealership to fix?

Thanks for the link to the DIY, I'll have to get the part ordered and try to replace it.

This is a stupid question and I probably just answered it myself but someone has to be sitting in the passenger seat with the unit turned on for it to engage, right? I had the passenger one on the other day (no one in the car except myself in the driver seat) and noticed the seat wasn't getting warm.

This is what happens to me. Pretty sure the passenger seat heater does not work. Even my passengers tell me that the heater is not working

I think the seat heaters don't activate until there is weight on the seat. The reason I think so is because there's been numerous of times where I would start my car and let it idle for 5-10 minutes on a cold morning and I put the seat heater into "Hi" setting and go inside to stay warm. When I come back out and sit down my seat is still cold and it doesn't really heat up until about 2-3 minute into the drive..

My passenger seat doesn't work at all though. The orange button lights up Lo and Hi so I think it's the heating element.

I had it on Hi setting and my girl was sitting in the passenger seat. It was on for about 15-20 minutes and she said she couldn't feel anything at all. She has a 06 Accord v6 sedan with leather and heated seats so she knows how it should feel.. Pretty much the same damn car.

Looking at the schematic from the service manual I do not see the that sensor is in the circuit. Plus my fiance says her seat never gets warm.

In response to my previous post -- I sat in the passenger seat of my car with it running two nights ago with the seat heater button set to 'High' and after 10 minutes, I felt nothing. I moved to the driver seat and did the same thing and felt the heat within 2 minutes.

I checked the fuses and they're all good. I'm glad it isn't the driver seat but I don't even want to think of how much it'll cost to have fixed. The DIY I read looks like it is a little too complicated for me to do.

Seat heater will come on if no one is sitting in them, the passenger side has only the bottom portion heated because the OCS sensor is located in the passenger lean back portion of the seat. Replacing the heater pad should take no longer then about 2 hours for someone who has never done any upholstery work.
