Red Airbag icon has appeared

Yesterday, the temperature dropped to -45 including windchill and noticed the Red airbag icon appeared on the dashboard, tried to shut / no shut the car, icon still stays on.

could be a sensor issues? or just the weather temp?

I had my light come on a few months ago and it turned out to be a sensor in the seatbelt buckle. They had to replace the buckle. It was free since that kinda stuff has a lifetime warranty.

Cb...wind chill doesn't effect the car, only living things. That being said, that is damn cold! Actual temperature would effect all things though with coefficient of expansion based on heating/cooling. Cooling causes shrinkage so a connection may have loosened because of that...

To take advantage of lifetime seatbelt warranty, you would have to go to the Acura dealership.

I also had my airbag light come on back in the fall. It came on intermittently but I had the dealer replace the buckle for free after finding out it was the sensor as well.

airbag light was gone...since yesterday temp went up from -45 to -20. I didn't do anything, just disappeared.

maybe the sensor is weak and starting to fail...and just a coincidence with the weather...who knows?

Mine was coming on randomly. I could go days without it coming on and when it was on I could turn off the car and turn it back on and it wouldn't be on. But just as a precaution I took it in because I didn't want to get into an accident and have the airbags or seatbelts fail.

They determined it was just one seatbelt buckle that was causing the issue and that's all they replaced. I haven't had the light come on since.

I took the car in for inspections yesterday but they couldn't find anything wrong..just needs a reset..

Here's what Acura had to say..

" 103537 Data retrieve 85-61 no signal from OPDS unit, tried initializing OPDS unit which failed, will need to try a OPDS unit but may have floor harness failure. "

what do you guys think?

I had a similar issue. The light will likely come back. It was a seat belt buckle for me, replaced free of charge.

Airbag light was gone...it will likely come back as per others.

If that happens and light stays on..I will ask Acura dealer to replace the seat belt buckle for me, free of charge.
