Unhappy Recalls fixed...Now we have issues?

Hey guys, I just joined up here. My girlfriend and I bought an Anthricite 05 TL last week with 30K on it. Car is is great condition and we decided to have the recalls taken care of. Wiper&Power steering. Now we have a few issues..

While the car was at Acura they also got my girlfriend to pay for a "Top Engine Clean" I was not availible so they called her phone. I was kinda pissed about that because I thought it was a waste of money. Anyhow we get the car back and the wipers work ok but now the washers hardly shoot any fluid onto the windshield. I topped off the tank and it didn't help.

Problem #2 is the fact that we took the car in running perfect, and now it is rough to start in the morning and the idle is rough too. Does anyone know exactly what they do during this "Top Engine Clean" process?

Whatever they did, we took the car in with 0 issues except wanting the recalls done and now we have some problems. If anyone has had similar issues or can shed some light on this I'd appreciate the feedback.

On a lighter note we love the car and are glad to be a part of the forum here.

Maybe they reset the ecu during the work, and it has to re learn settings and so on.

I would never get any sort of cleaning service, I have never gotten it on any car and never had problems, despite going to 250,000 miles on some cars.

Its my opinion that the cleaning/flushing services are just to make money, since somehow I can go 250,000 miles without them and still pass inspection, get the same mpg as new (or better), have a smooth idle, etc.

Maybe they left a hose off, or disturbed something, but I suspect that many shops dont actualy DO anything when you get that service.

If you have a real problem, you should get a CEL and a code, so maybe give it some time....

Top Engine Clean is actually a good and worthwhile purchase assuming they are using a product like GM Top End Cleaner or Sea Foam (search for this on the forum).

When using a Top End Cleaner the car may run rough until you get a few complete driving cycles in. If it is still running like crap when it starts after 20 or so miles take it back.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the responses. I'll drive it around some more and see if it gets better or continues to be a problem. As for the Windshield washer issue I already called the dealer and they are going to take a look at it this week for us.

Thanks! -Kyle
