Radio not working. Not asking for code. Power works & climate

Hi, recently purchased an acura tl 2006. Its my first car so im still new to all of this. Fixed most of my problems with the car using this forum and you guys are really helpful. However I cant fix the radio. The problem is it doesnt ask for the code, I also have the little paper with the code on it. It does have power because the blue backlight turns on with the car. No letters or words on display tho.

Climate display works and buttons as well, airflow works but a/c doesnt which is another problem i have to get sorted. The time above that also resets. Ive read thru many threads but all of the threads are either a blown fuse which i checked and replaced, and nothing. Another thread addresses the radio asking for the code, but the request for the code never pops up. I tried the 1 and 6 -> radio on thing, nothing either. It cant be a fuse because I checked those, and I know theres power being supplied because of the backlight? I also disconnected the battery and connected again and nothing.

Also I opened up one side to check and see if the connections were good and everything was connected. I read in a thread u should reset the fm wire but I couldnt find it, I can post pics if needed. Any ideas? Thank u

Btw when I mentioned fuse I only checked the one inside the car under the steering wheel. Not sure about the one under the hood, if thats connected to this at all? havent seen any info on how to access that either or which fuses to check.

Next try resetting the system by just unplugging your battery for a few minutes. You can do so by undoing the positive cable. Others have had success with this. If it STILL doesn't work, it could be a defective head unit

You need to pull a certain fuse for one minute. I think it's #7 in the under dash fuse box. Do a search, this procedure is documented in a thread somewhere here in this forum.

When you press the power button on the radio. Look at the top display where the clock is. That's where code will show up

Tried it now and the clock stays the same. I saw a video on youtube I think it only displays "code" on the clock when its the navi combo.

If it turns out to be defective, any idea on how much it would cost to install an aftermarket radio? Labor only, Id buy the radio + harness online. Unless its cheaper to do it all together. NYC area, thanks.

Agreed...non-navi the clock is just a clock and nothing else. Pretty sure the "Code" pops up on the main screen. It has been a long time since I have had to look at that on mine so I could be wrong.

The instructions to fix this radoo problem are on page 151 of the owners manual. After the you enter the navigation code on the touchscreen enter the code on the radio itself using the radio physical button's.

I also had this issue and for the life of me I could not figure it out after taking the head unit out and checking all connections and ground.

But this was the solution!!! I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!

It is likely a failed head unit.
