Radio hvac screen

Hello all , I have recently picked up a very nice 05 TL that has a few quirks .
The most important at this time , is the hvac screen is blank for the passenger side .
Left side functions as it should , all buttons work properly , and all features seem to work .
Not so for the passenger side .
Does this mean that I have to replace the radio / hvac screen to enable the controls ?
While I am here I will add , the exterior mirrors do not tilt down , even when the switch is in the corresponding position .
Any ideas there ?
Thank you for your time .
Ashley

In regards to your mirrors, do they click or not do anything?

They do nothing when I put the car in reverse .
Does not matter which way I place the switch , left or right .
By the way , thanks for replying.

Regarding your HVAC screen issue: have you tried running the HVAC self-diagnostic feature yet? If not, you can do this by pressing and holding the "auto" & the "off" buttons on HVAC control. From there, the screen should flash both the passenger and driver side temp displays, alternating from "88" to "-" (any of the bars that make up the number 88 are potential fault codes, which their specific location defines which letter it corresponds to). All of this can be found in the "DTC Troubleshooting" section of the FSM (Factory Service Manual). If you do not have a digital copy of the FSM, I recommend downloading it, especially if you do your own work on your vehicle...they are a friggin' lifesaver, AND THEN SOME!!!

But, to lend a helping hand to get things moving for you in the right direction, here's what I was talking about that you're needing to reference for the HVAC Codes (straight outta the FSM):

FSM -- HVAC Self-Diagnostic Fault Codes & Corresponding Descriptions

Due to the severe lengthiness of some of the troubleshooting procedures found within the FSM, you'll have to download it to reference the [section#-page#] that the last column references. Good luck and please make sure you let us know what you find out!
