Radiator fan kicks in after ignition off
Radiator fan kicks in after ignition off
Searching through the forum I've seen previous discussion on the similar issue, but there was no definitive conclusion as to the actual cause. When I turn off the engine, I noticed that the radiator fan immediately kicked in. It was not on when the engine was running. I turned the ignition to ON (but not starting the engine) to check on the water temperature, and it was somewhat elevated (slightly above 50%). With the ignition in the ON position, the radiator fan stopped. A soon as the ignition is returned to the OFF position, the fan kicks in again.
This doesn't happen all the time... only about 2 or 3 times out of 10. But I guess whatever it is, it's going to get worse.
Is this a problem with the relay or the thermostat?
