Quick question:

My moonroof switch on the front domelight assembly doesn't light up. I just noticed this yesterday. Now I'm wondering if the switch is even supposed to light up at all? Can someone verify this for me? I can't quite remember if the switch lights up or not?

I could be mistaken.. but I'm pretty sure it does light up. I'll let you know later..

It doesn't light on my 04. The dome light and homelink switches/buttons do, but not the moonroof switch. Don't recall if it ever did.

This is what I'm hoping is true...because it's a hassle to take my car to the stealer just for this.

Confirmed: There is a bulb. Just pulled my switch. It's easy. Use a butter knife on the side of the switch to pop it out. Disconnect the connector and pull the switch. The bulb base (blue plastic in my car) can be seen in the middle of the back (top) of the switch housing. Use a small reg screwdriver to turn it 1/4 ccw and it should pop out. You might have to turn it upside down and shake to get it out.

mine lights up sometimes....i think the bulb is bad cause if i hit the switch to open the roof, it will light up if its not lit and vice versa

mine doesn't. Guess I'd have to replace the bulb, but it isn't worth it imo to replace it. I don't care if it lights up or not.

^ Yep. Have them check all the bulbs on your dash and steering wheel. They all light up.

A while back, somehow all my bulbs burnt out. I thought it was a fuse, but the dealer ended up replacing every button bulb in the dash, steering wheel, and radio. Under warranty, of course. I was driving with no button light for so long I thought it was normal.

Just got back from the stealer.

I waited 45 minutes for my car JUST FOR THE BULB. They ended up putting in the white "base" TL bulb.

So, I told them to put the right bulb in...45 MINUTES later, they tell me that they don't have it, so they have to order it, and they'll call me when it comes in.

What was the part # of the bulb they tried to put in?

Did you verify the part # (35835-SEP-A01) in the diagram above with them before they made the order?

Or is the bulb different for a TL-S? I haven't checked for a TL-S....

And the bulb in my TL has a blue cover/coating on the bulb....

Damn that sucks lol.

I dunno bout your dealership but mine has a big screen tv with lots of magazines, free mini fridge with drinks and a latte machine thingy, oh and two of the slowest computers known to man. So I usually don't mind waiting, unless I have to get to work.

I don't think the Type-S bulb would have a bluish tint to it, since it's supposed to be red. I didn't verify anything with them, I left without any paperwork. But, I would hope they ordered the right bulb, since they knew the white bulb was the wrong one.

The stealership that I went to has all of those things PLUS two massage chairs that cost ~ $5k each. But, I'd rather be home doing what I need to do.

The parts diagram for 2004 shows this part # for the bulb: 35835-SEP-A01

The parts diagram for 2007 shows 35835-SEP-A11.

The details page for both bulbs say that each bulb is for 04-07 TL. Hmmmm...Maybe the A11 is red.
