Quality Issues

I know that every car, no matter how expensive, has issues. I also know that 10% of the people who have issues make up 90% of the complaints. While I was shopping for cars, I found a few forums talking about the TL. Unfortunately, I didn't find this one.

Now, I love how this forum is set-up. There are sections for just about any topic you want to talk about. The "Problems and Fixes" section is very helpful, but could be very misleading as well. While I appreciate the info here, it does point out alot of issues found.

While I am not certain if I had found this forum before my purchase, would I have bought this car anyways. But it's too late and I will live with it. I have had my car for 2 weeks and already have few rattles here and there. Not a major problem at all, but still annoying for a $35K vehicle. Frankly, it would annoy me anyway even if I had bought ad $15K car.

I was looking at Lexus, BMW, G35, and Audi. Again, these cars have problems as well. But for the the money, the TL couldn't be beat. I did complain about the issues I have to my wife and she said to either stop reading these d@mn forums OR find other forums for the cars I was considering and find what issues they have. It may make me feel better. I tried, but other forums for BMW, G35, Audi, etc... are not setup the way Acurazine is setup. They don't have "Problems" sections. So it is hard to gauge how much problems they have.

Sorry for the rant, but I guess what I am trying to say is that, Acuras SEEM to have MANY MANY more issues than any other cars. I guess I want to feel better about my purchase. And I am starting to wonder if "10% of the people who have issues make up 90% of the complaints" is really true in our case or the majority of owners are having problems. Lastly, I wonder how the TL can be rate SO highly in CR above all other vehicles in it's class (FYI, one of the sources I used before purchase) when there are so many complaints.

Dunno, my friends who are techs with BMW told me not to get one, that was enough for me. And Consumer Reports rates BMW pretty low. Acura does great in Consumer Reports.

This forum is set up the way it is because we Acura owners are very smart, so a logical set up was inevitable. Because we're smart is also why we bought the TL over the competition. Following this logic speaks to the other side, as well. We have enough complainers here, so chill, enjoy the ride...you chose wisely...

Oh really? Check out their frequency of repair records thus far for the 2004 TL. You might be surprised to find this car only rates average versus above or well above average for practically all other modern day Hondas and Acuras.
