put car into park the car unlocks (sometimes?)

i noticed this a few times: im driving then a brake suddenly then i put the car in park. my doors do not unlock. now when im doing this its sudden. is that normal? i thought that when you place the car in park with the auto transmission the doors all unlock.

one time when i pulled up to a rocky parking spot but i stopped completely then i put it in park and the doors would not unlock that time? is there a sensor that tells the doors to not unlock?

Haha at least it's not as bad as my problem.. My doors lock RANDOMLY. If say I unlock my doors and shut the door. I can hear my locks randomly lock and thus I am locked out.. I am very unaware of even how to deal with this problem. Been using the spare with me thus far. :P

Just turn that feature off. Thats what I did after my actuator broke and the door tried to constantly lock it self over and over.

The locking/unlocking choices are controlled by you through the MID-- you can set the doors to lock/unlock on shifting, reaching 10 mph, etc.

Check the owner's manual for instructions, or register the car with myacura.com (?) to access the on-line owner and Navi manuals.

my problem isnt the locking part. i specifically set it to lock after a while of movement.

my problem is it unlocking.

when you put it in park, the doors are supposed to unlock, are they not?

yes, mine auto-unlock everytime when i shift to park. But, if someone tries to open the door before i shift to park, when i put it in park, it wont auto-unlock anymore.

You can set the TL to have: 1) all doors unlock, 1) just the driver door unlock upon shifting the auto trans to "Park," or 3) no action, i.e. manual unlock, setting.

I use the manual unlock setting.

this is a Driver settings option selectable from the dash control. I think it comes up after the Trip Computer when toggling through the selections. You can seting for lock/unlock at ignition on, in gear or over 10mph
