PS Pump overhaul questions

Just have a couple questions regarding Ps Pump rebuild. I bought a kit on http://www.ebay.com/itm/181038534425?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT and it came with a couple more parts than i needed according to the A-104 DIY on here. It came with 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 23 the extra parts are 11 & 10 is it recommend to change those parts also or should i stick with the parts listed on the diy?

This my first time doing something like this, just trying to be cautions when playing with the ps pump. The Reason why im doing it is because the stealership was asking about $400 to get this done and looking at the diy looks like a fairly easy job

I don't think you "must" change 10+11, if they are difficult to switch. Most of us just replaced the seals in the DIY - I did mine ~2 years ago and it's been running perfectly since. Maybe keep the parts in case you need them down the line...

Good luck! Keep us posted!!!

I would say if it's NOT too much trouble and you already have them with you, go ahead and replace everything they included in the kit!

If you look at the original diy, I forgot to do #12 and I haven't had any issues. I think it's been over 3 years too!

I just completed this on my 2005 with 240,000 miles on it. I did not receive the 10 & 11 that you did but I would replace them. Take your time and match part for part with the old pump.

FYI, my fix revealed that my hoses were brittle. I replaced everything except the high pressure hose, since that was done under TSB several years ago. I would for sure replace that infamous O ring that is not pictured here. It is the one on the very top and very easy to replace without making much of a mess.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the help finally got some time to post on here! I finally got to do it last weekend and everything went great! The only problem i had was removing the inner bolt holding the pump had to go run to the store to get a 12mm wrench. I didn't get a chance to replace 14, 12 and 11 couldn't find a 10MM allen wrench around and wasnt really sure how to remove the the ps Pulley and didnt wasnt to mess with it.

While cleaning the inside i noticed alot of ps build up on everything and found another source of the leak which was the Oil Cooler hose. That thing was really brittle and wasnt even on all the way (as you can see in the picture i added)

Good stuff...I wonder how mine is holding up, now that you post that. I am pretty sure I had to tighten up the screw holding a clamp to stop mine from leaking at the back connection at one point. I have to check it again.
