This is one of the most talked about subjects since '04 with a very easy cure. Search GM Synchromesh.

it dates way past '04.
Most honda MT's have this gear set problem.

usually, its cured by the syncromesh....butt, if the gear set is heavily damaged, you'll need to get it replaced.

IIRC, there is a repair kit from Acura. I had the trans taken apart and fixed, but GM Syncromesh is the best thing since sliced bread.

ditto on GM.. if you dont use it it will keep popping out and have to get clutch replaced like i did.. wish I knew the GM thing before that... there also is this TSB.. again wish I knew

in this link

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs-3g-garage-j-016-a-613659/

and TSB 08-018

It might help taking it to the dealership but not sure if they will do anything... enough people have stated GM Synchro takes care of this.. I know after I replaced my clutch.. OEM replacement.. I have not had issues but they also have a slightly better fluid than when they first came out

I am personally switching over to synchro this spring.. just make sure you get the right version.. FULL Syncrhomesh.. the GM dealerships mostly dont have it so you will have to order online..

I just did the GMSMFM change after a week of owning my 6MT and the fluid did exactly what everyone had been claiming it would do. Fixed the problem 100% and noticed a night and day difference. I too worry it may be too late (48kmi) but I'll deal with it when I come to that road and for now this is the cheapest and easiest thing I could do to solve the problem right now.

I had to call and run around to a few places but was able to pick up 3 qts from a local GM dealer. It was ~$14 + tax each so maybe it would of been a better idea to order online.
