Problem: Hands Free Link

When I first bought my '06 TL, I set up my phone and my wifes phone. Both worked as they should...Now when I get in the car, it doesn't pickup my phone every time. I say "every time" because on a rare occasion it will work. I've put my phone in search mode and most of the time it says device not found. I've tried to put it in search and hold it in different places and it still will not recognize it. I know the phone is still listed in the car because I've used the list function and it announces both of our phones.
Now on the other hand, when my wife gets in the car, it immediately picks up her phone.
Any suggestions ?

Trade phones with your wife.

Have you deleted your phone and re-paired it?

I noticed that my phone was connected when the phone was in the house and the car was in the garage. Any chance your wife's phone is "connected" and when you get in the car it "ignores" your phone?

You might repost in the Audio/Electronics sub-forum for more responses.

It sounds like the problem is your phone and not the TL's HFL.

Is your phone fully compatible with the HFL per the Acura Hands Free Link website? Is your phone's software up to date?

Get a new compatible phone or download the newest software.

It is possible that it's my phone...The phone has the latest software and is fully compatible. Like I said in my original post, the phone worked fine for the first few months I used it. No problems. All of a sudden it wasn't working one day.....I will try to delete it and reinstall it and see if that works. Keep you posted.

The phone's Bluetooth has to be on before it will automatically pair to the HFL-- is your phone's Bluetooth active/powered up before you put it in "search" mode, and is the Bluetooth set to automatically find the HFL?

My Motorola phone has "HandsFreeLinkTM" as a device profile, with access set to "Automatic" rather than "ask," so the phone & HFL find each other as soon as the ignition is switched on.

And if that isn't the problem, try a search for the problem in the Audio, Bluetooth, etc. sub-forum here: https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-articles-2/

My phone is setup exactly like your Motorola is. HandsFreeLink as device profile, Automatic rather than Ask and the Bluetooth power is set to ON..

I got in the car this morning and when I started the car I was surprised. They actually paired up and the phone indicator on the dash lit up....It stayed lit for a minute or two and then lost connection and never connected back until I put it in search mode....
