Power Steering Pump Pulley

Just took the power steering pump out.

Trying to get the pulley nut off to attach it to the new pump.

Any tricks on getting that nut off (without damaging the pulley)?

Is the nut reverse threaded?

I've searched, but cant find a definitive answer.

Also....yes this is for my wife's 3rd gen

If you use a impact gun it comes off easier .

Might have better luck with it in the car all together and loosen the pulley then

Impact is best, but you might try placing a steel bar, heavy screwdriver, or wrench through one of the pulley holes and turn until it "locks" against the housing and then give it a try.

There hasnt been a bolt I couldnt remove with this impact driver. I was even able to get a crankbolt loose using this.

Thanks. I went and bought a cheap brand one at Autozone (because they didnt rent them).

Used it for 2 seconds, go he bolt off. I'm going to return it and then purchase a better brand. I will look into that Craftsman.

I have that gun. It works fine for suspension and other things but there is no way it would have loosened my crank pulley bolt
